Located at McKinney National Airport (TKI) in McKinney Texas, the McKinney Fixed Based Operations (FBO) project provides a new main entrance to McKinney, TX through its new private and corporate air terminal. The Design takes its cue from the area’s vernacular with extensive use of regional limestone and wood clad ceilings expressed in a modern manner providing an aesthetic that will set the tone for the future developments in the McKinney Air Center. A double height grand lobby connects the Landside and Airside of the building and serves as main circulating spine through the building.

 

The building program includes a private terminal, lounge/bar, movie room, learning space, office space, flight prep areas and community meeting space. CaCo worked closely with the City of McKinney, TKI staff/users to provide a design solution that met not only the budgetary needs of the client but the desires and goals of the end user group. Additionally, at the Developer’s request, CaCo produced a fully immersive Virtual Reality experience of the building concept for the Developer’s Marketing purposes. This project is an example of CaCo’s experience working within a set of existing buildings and creating a new aesthetic for future developments. CaCo provided Full Architectural services, Planning/Programming, inclusive of Interior Design.
